CASE STUDY 1

This high profile case involved an alleged attempt by a client to seek financial gain from an Australian celebrity after he was captured by videotape in a brawl.

In this case the judge directed the jury to acquit the client because the Crown had failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that an unwarranted demand had been made or that a threat had been made against the celebrity.

CASE STUDY 2

Our client has been stopped by police and following a search, the sum of $11,200 was found on his person. He was subsequently charged.

We provided a detailed analysis of the source of the money and sought that the charges be withdrawn and the money returned. At first, our request was refused and the matter was set down for hearing, however further application to the prosecution authorities resulted in the rightful outcome and the prosecutors withdrew all charges on the day of the hearing.

Accordingly, Magistrate ordered that the $11,200 be returned to our client.
